Our recital courses are a perfect way for you or your dancer to develop their skills in year-long class setting. Each class meets once a week for ten months, split into fall and winter sessions. Sessions includes recital-like Watch Weeks, and culminate in the year-end main recital. Recital Classes are a Sept.-June commitment. We strongly recommend that those who take recital classes also take at least one of our technique courses, Ballet or Turns & Leaps, which we offer at a 50% discount for those in a recital class. Note: to perform in the year end recital, dancers must attend both sessions. The styles of dance include:
Hip hop dancing has evolved over the years and keeps evolving today. From popping to breaking to commercial choreography, your dancer will learn how to become diverse in various hip hop styles. With focus on body isolations, musicality, and texture of movement, your dancer will learn a fun and influential way to dance.
Jazz dancers will learn a variation of classic and contemporary jazz technique, with a focus on isolations, pirouettes, leaps, and energetic movement. Classes consist of warm-ups, floor progressions, and center combinations.
Lyrical dancing is a mix between balletic movement, jazz technique , and modern/contemporary dance that is choreographed to the lyrics of a song. Lyrical is a great way for you dancer to become more graceful and mindful of connecting emotion with movement while still learning engaging choreography.
Ballet at OTG is a combination of Checetti, Russian, and modern ballet. We believe in dancers using ballet as a tool to heighten their performance and strengthen their technique in all other styles of dance. Ballet choreography at OTG takes a more modern approach and we currently do not offer certification in any ballet style.
